The new Chromium browser is here!

We’ve replaced the native WebView (WKWebView on macOS, WebView2 on Windows) with a Chromium-based browser powered by the Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF). This means the built-in browser now behaves exactly like Chrome — full DevTools, consistent rendering across platforms, and no more quirks from OS-specific WebView implementations. Every site you open in RightPlace now runs on the same engine you already know and trust.

Thank you for reporting bugs. Please keep doing so through our Facebook page and Discord channel where our team can pick them up and take care of them quickly. If the in-app auto update didn’t work, you can download the latest version from account.rightplace.app. You can now vote for features and submit ideas on our roadmap.

  • Wiki-links — link docs to each other with [[doc-name]] syntax, click to navigate

Cloud Sync

  • Tombstone-based delete propagation — deletes now sync correctly across devices
  • Block-level transfer — sync blob split into 64KB encrypted blocks, only changed blocks uploaded
  • Cascade detection — automatically falls back to full-blob upload when >50% blocks change
  • Re-push on local wins — after pulling, newer local rows are immediately pushed back
  • Sync details UI — account settings shows format, block count, tombstones, and ETag
  • Back/forward navigation — browser-style history across tabs, file switches, sidebar views, and settings
  • Resource state restoration — navigating back restores the open file within a docs resource
